God Is so Good!
It's amazing how God chooses to bless His children! My husband and I knew we wanted to adopt before we were married! But after we started researching the process of adoption we began to become discouraged. We knew there were so many children that so desperately needed a forever family but it almost seemed impossible for us. It seemed like every avenue of adoption had at least 3 stipulations against us, I was to young, Rick was to old,we hadn't been married long enough, and the list goes on. Not to even mention the $20,000 plus that a typical adoption cost! We believed the Bible when it says that children are a blessing and we wanted as many of these blessings as God would choose to bless us with!
It seemed like I was on a emotional roller coaster for the first year and half of our marriage. We were praying that God would bless us with children through my womb and adoption. But every month I would start my period. Or we would find one more reason why we couldn't adopt.
Thankfully we serve a God who loves to do the impossible! He also loves to bless His children when they choose to obey His word and believe the Truth rather than the lie.

My parents had bought me a few adoption books for my birthday and while reading them I came across an adoption story that had caught my attention! It was an adoption miracle where this couple got a phone call and they brought their baby home that weekend. I remember telling Rick that I wish God would bless us with a baby that way! It was 2 weeks later when it happened! It was a typical Wednesday afternoon in April, I was starting dinner and Rick was doing yard work. Rick came inside for a minute when the phone rang. I didn't answer it because I didn't recognize the phone number that showed up on the caller ID.Rick was in the other room when he picked up the phone. I notice there was something different about this phone call so I stopped what I was doing in the kitchen so I could pay attention to Rick. My heart started beating so much faster and I'm sure I held my breath when I heard Rick say,"Well, I'm not sure what we have to do but we will call a lawyer and let you know. Yes, we want to adopt your baby. We will call you back as soon as we find out how to proceed." And then he hung up. He acted so calm, cool as a cucumber! When he told me who was on the phone and that she was calling to see if we wanted to adopt her baby girl I started crying and hugging him for dear life! I couldn't believe it! Just like that, God had dropped a beautiful baby girl in our lap! We met with a Lawyer on Thursday and birth mom signed her over to us on Friday and we brought our daughter home on Monday! When we went to the Hospital to meet our baby she was sleeping when we got there. I remember she looked so beautiful sleeping in that crib and I thought to myself, she's mine! This is my baby! God is so good, He has done this amazing miracle! We were so blessed because the medical team at the hospital allowed me to stay the weekend so we could start the bonding process! This was the most memorable weekend of my life. I didn't get much sleep because I held her almost the entire time I was there but it was so worth it! It's amazing how fast children can form an attachment, Anna knew I was mom that weekend! Anytime someone would hold her she would fuss until they would give her back to me! Talk about some Momma pride!
We are quite excited because we will finalize this adoption this week! God is so faithful! HE never ceases to amaze me!
